- 2 effects were that there were way too many opium addicts in China now and people started rebelling against opium.

- He lost his country when the foreigners showed up. He made the Boxers start a rebellion but they foreigners soon beat them and came to China with more groups which made the Emperor flee. Soon after he left, China became the Republic of China.
3) In your own words, describe Great Britain's role in bringing Chinese society to the brink of collapse.
- The role of Britain in this case was very crucial. They bought in the drugs to China even though they knew the risks of it. These drugs made foreigner drug addicts all around China. This led to the emperor telling the Boxers to rebel against this foreigners in a battle which the Boxers lost and put China in a bad situation.

- It was pretty much a policy which gave countries equal trading rights.

This article is mainly about how China is slowly working on changing the balance of the power in the world. It is talking about how China is improving their military and the weapons they have. They have a system called TEL ( Transporter-Erector-Launcher ). This system has a missile called the DF-31 which will be launched and could cause damage to north-western side of the United States.
